    - I loved the opening shot. I'm not sure how you were able to film at that angle, and the branch with leaves in the front with everything else kind of out of focus in the background just looks really cool.
    - I think you spent too much filming your friend walking. It started getting a little boring. I think maybe you could have filmed a few more nature shots, or something else interesting.
    - The scene of your friend climbing the tree seemed kind of random, because it was filmed in shutter speed. The shutter speed seemed kind of out of place and it didn't seem like there was any real purpose behind using it.
    - I enjoyed the closing shot. It seemed like a good final end to the video.

    "Motor Vehicle":
    - I wish you would have done more with this video. The shots were nice and clean looking, but it still felt like something was missing. I think you need more of a story, more of a clear beginning and ending. It just seemed like a lot of shots put together.

    "Racquetball":
    - I like how in this video, you told an actual story. It's also interesting that you used the same person to play two different characters. I didn't realize they were the same person until the end of the video.
    - I wish you would have experimented more with the effects on the camera during this video- playing with the exposure or the shutter speed could have made the game look really cool.

I like the story & the camera angles. I am missing some close ups of the nature around you and maybe a scene where you are the walking person.

    Motor Vehicle:
I like the good control of the camera you have in the rides. It does not bother me it is just streets. I like it... If I were you, I would just continue the ride journey to complete a day. From an early morning ride when you see the runners in the streets, through a bright/normal day or rush hour, to the night, when the rider rest and park his car. No need to have the shoot on top of a building showing cars running in front. To me, the character in your story is the car itself and what do I see.

    Racquetball:
Nice job! There is only one comment. In the shaking hands scene, there is too much pause between one hand grabbing the other one. The second hand should grab faster the first one to make it more natural.

I like the opening shot through leaves, although I think it goes on just a bit too long (like 1 or 2 seconds)
The walking shots do become a bit mundane. If they were put together in shorter clips, it might give it a quicker pace and hold our interest visually.
I like the shot of guy between the tree, I thought that was really good placement.
I agree with Isabel, shutter speed on the tree isn't completely necessary, but it isn't too strong or overwhelming. So you could keep it in if you want.
I'm not sure how I feel about the end... I don't really know what I should be feeling.

    Racquetball:
I really like the idea of having the same actor play two different people and it plays really well - the editing to make it look like he's playing against himself is sharp
My only qualm is that... something, I'm not sure what, makes the ending feel a bit off (the shots with the hand, trying to have physical contact between the "two" guys). I think what Irma said was kind of on the mark, it might be an issue of speed in contact.

    Motor Vehicle:
The shot on road is a little bit overdone in video, so if there's an opportunity I would try and find a way to shoot that way, or something similar, with an extra special unique ingredient (I have no idea what though).
I like the shot on the bridge, it's a good view and at night is really nice. It really replicates what you see from the car, without too much distortion or shadows because it's night.
The shots of the car at the end were cool choices, because it's probably a random car but we feel like it's the one we were just in - it's placed cleverly into the context of the video.

I love the first shot! It is so pretty!
The angles you got of your friend walking is creative. Even though some shots were a bit long, each shot was interesting, giving your simple action (walk) more depth.
I liked how the sky was darkening in the end!
I don't exactly understand the title. I get why its a "tree" but I do not understand the "of life" part.

    Racquetball:
I love how you made one person play with each other! The idea is really creative. Maybe some shots and emotions can be a bit longer, so I can follow the story a little easier.

    Motor Vehicle:
I thought you could play with effects with this video because the lights from the street lights and the cars and make really cool streaking. It was a little every-day-life, but I like your shot of the city!

  5. Tree of Life:
Good work in: story building, perspective choosing,
Possible improvement: stabilize the camera, mix short and long clips, more emotions in your video, especially emotion shifts.

    Motor Vehicle:
Good work in: choosing great scenes in Rochester, day to night change, exposure.
Possible improvement: more angles outside the car, more manipulation of camera such as exposures and focuses.

    Racquetball:
Good work in: telling a humorous story, variety angles of shooting, teaching viewers the idea of competition.
Possible improvement: balance the color base of each scene, equalize the distance between "two guys" shots.

Nice reference to the Malick movie! I thought this video was pretty cool, but I'm not 100% sure what you were trying to say. Is life deformed and gnarled like the tree? By climbing the tree is the guy succeeding or is he missing out on something because he can only climb one half? I don't know, just something to think about.

    Motor Vehicle:
The angles were pretty cool. I think you kept it from getting boring because you gave us various perspectives. Did the two cars crash at the end? If so, is that just to show an end to the ride? I think if you want to end it that way you need to make it a little more meaningful.

    Racquetball:
I thought this piece was pretty clever. The angles were cool, and the fact that you used two guys for one part was pretty awesome, especially since we could only edit in-camera. I did kind of miss the sound though. I know we couldn't use it for this project, but the sound a racquetball makes is kind of iconic, and I think that it would have added a lot to the piece.
